What a difference a day makes!!

all weekend the 20m band was full of American stations eager to work anyone outside the states.

today?

well, to be fair, conditions were pretty flat, but I did clearly hear 2 Californian stations in QSO with Europeans, but nothing for me.

then I heard someone ending with a very weak station, who's call I didn't catch.  I called him anyway and he answered to hear a GI4 /P station.  VERY low in the QRN so I couldn't really chat and find out where he was portable, but at least it was a contact.

two stations were ICE  stations as this is apparently Antarctica awareness week......

the first on this list was actually last nigh after I'd updated the log.
